I am a spa addict...
My go-to spas would be The Spa at the Hazelton Hotel and J French Beauty Spa. Both are of course located in the Yorkville neighbourhood.
I have heard of other more popular spas in Toronto such as Elmwood Spa however, the stories that I have heard were not that great. I believe that a good spa should have a good ambience to go along with it. Spas that are located in the more downtown core of the city are usually very busy - not that it is a bad thing - but it is just too loud for my liking. Don't people go to the spa to unwind and relax? ...Kind of impossible to do so when there are a bunch of loud women chatting away.
I recently went for a massage at Stillwater Spa located at Avenue Road and Bloor St. W. I have always walked passed this spa and never thought much of it. After all, it is kind of hard for me to want to try new things when I already have my go-to places. I mean... if you don't follow me on my Instagram already, you'd probably find an endless amount of Sotto Sotto food photos more than any other restaurant i've been to just to say the least about me!
The only reason why I got myself to go to this spa was mainly because I had received a gift card to it. I don't care what anyone says about gift giving... I think gift cards are the best gifts! So, I decided to go for a massage. The one thing that I noticed about this place was the pricing... this place is expensive. Just a heads up for anyone thinking of checking this spot out. A 1 hour massage here costs $180 whereas at the Spa at the Hazelton, the same massage would start at $140.
Aside from the price issue, I think that this spa is pretty good. Not only is it beautiful on the inside, there are a lot of perks that you get while in the spa. When you're in the massage room itself you even get to choose what kind of oil you want and what kind of music you would like to listen to as well.
Overall, I think that this is a great spa. A little more on the pricier side but it is worth it!
